The unmissable Domaine de Trévarez in central Finistère, a recognised 20th century heritage site, was built at the end of the 19th century by James de Kerjégu. A true 'Belle époque' château of pink stone from Kersanton.
Set in a 200-acre parkland, the Château de Trévarez is now a recognised 20th century heritage site; it has surveyed the Aulne Valley for more than a hundred years. It bears witness to the dream of one man, the politician James de Kerjégu, who in 1893 undertook the construction of a prestigious residence on the leading edge of modernity within the Belle époque style.
Every year, Trévarez invites a contemporary artist to record his or her impressions of this place: from this, a new work is commissioned for the Domaine each year, accompanied by a temporary exhibition in the former stables. In winter, these stables are home to the Trévarez Christmas events, focusing on creativity and the Christmas stories, appealing to all ages.
