What goes on beneath the pools at the Aquatic Centre? What happens to the water after you’ve had a shower? How is the water in the pools filtered? Where does the heat come from to power the equipment? During the tour, you’ll discover, amongst other things: how the water in the pools is managed and treated; how heat is recovered from shower waste water; how rainwater is collected; filtration using glass beads; the wood-fired boiler room, which also supplies the multi-sports hall; the choices made to improve the building’s energy efficiency.
