Description
Guided tour of the CHANCERELLE cannery and product tasting
CHANCERELLE is a French family-run business specialising in the production of tinned fish, founded in 1828. Based in Douarnenez, the company is now the oldest sardine cannery in the world still in operation. It produces a range of tinned fish made from sardines, tuna, mackerel and other carefully selected and prepared fish, notably under its iconic Connétable brand.
As part of the Economic Tourism and Craftsmanship Weeks, CHANCERELLE is opening its doors to the general public.
This unique event offers the chance to go behind the scenes at our cannery and immerse yourself in our time-honoured expertise. Come and explore the secrets of tinned fish production and sample some of our products. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to visit a true monument to industrial and gastronomic heritage, recognised as a ‘living heritage’ enterprise since 2018.
