This walk allows you to discover the soul of Douarnenez and gain an understanding of its history, which is so closely linked to the saga of the sardine. Stroll through the town’s streets and alleyways, with their 19th-century architecture and old canneries tucked away amongst the houses. Stroll through the old harbour – a living reminder of Douarnenez’s past – as far as the sailors’ shelter, a place held sacred by fishermen. Booking required at the Tourist Office.
