Meeting with Elisabeth Monteiro-Rodrigues
Elisabeth Monteiro Rodrigues has been invited to present her translation of Raoul Brandao's The Fishermen, published in 2026 by Chandeigne et Lima. Published in 1923, this major work of Portuguese literature is at the crossroads of narrative and investigation. In it, Raoul Brandao describes in great detail the fishing communities, their techniques, their boats and their living conditions, while taking a committed look at their social reality.
Meeting with Henri Kérisit
The meeting will take the form of a dialogue between Elisabeth Monteiro Rodrigues and Henry Kerisit, the initiator of the museum's collection of Portuguese boats and a connoisseur of Lusitanian maritime heritage.

The meeting will be enhanced by the screening of Marie-Louise Jacquelin's film Pêcheurs sans port (1952), held at the Cinémathèque de Bretagne. This documentary offers a rare insight into traditional fishing in Nazaré, illustrating the collective work of Portuguese coastal communities.
